Musical 'De Tocht'

‘De Tocht: The Musical’ brings to life the legendary and iconic ice skating tour, the Elfstedentocht (Eleven City Tour). Spanning nearly 200 kilometers, this cherished event, organized by the Royal Association of the Frisian Eleven Cities, holds a special place in Dutch culture.

The mission with ‘De Tocht: The Musical’ goes beyond entertainment; it’s about preserving a vital cultural heritage and sparking awareness among younger generations. Since its last tour in 1997, many have not witnessed the majesty of the Elfstedentocht, nor fully grasped the profound impact of climate change on its future.

Beewan has crafted a captivating pre-show experience within the foyer, drawing inspiration from the innovative concept of “inside is outside.” Here, guests are seamlessly transported into a vibrant hospitality environment reminiscent of a Frysian village square. Within this theme we were able to incorporate hospitality in the form of an iconic café and restaurant that are situated at the edge of the village square. Besides this we decorated functional assets like the stairs, elevator and cloackroom as recognizable landmarks in Friesland.

Amidst this immersive setting, visitors are encouraged to embark on a culinary journey, exploring the rich tapestry of local food traditions. As they delve further into the experience, guests encounter interactive exhibits that unveil the compelling history and esteemed heroes of the tour. all of this as a prelude to the main attraction, the musical itself, a story of legends.
